Founded in 1892, Church of Our Saviour has long stood as a place of peace, welcome, and spiritual grounding near the heart of downtown Mill Valley. The church was established by Ellie Avery Reed in loving memory of her husband, the Rev. Frederick Reed. What began as simple worship gatherings in the Reed family’s summer cottage has grown into a beloved Episcopal community grounded in faith, hospitality, and service.
Over the decades, Church of Our Saviour has evolved alongside the vibrant town of Mill Valley, which we are proud to call home. We honor our Episcopal roots while embracing the diverse spiritual journeys of those who walk through our doors. Under the thoughtful leadership of the Rev. Br. Richard Edward Helmer, our rector, we continue to grow as a community founded in compassion, creativity, and spiritual depth. Whether you’re seeking a quiet moment of reflection, meaningful worship, or genuine connection, you’ll find a welcoming home here.
Who We Are Today
Church of Our Saviour is an open and inclusive congregation where all are truly welcome. We celebrate a broad, compassionate Episcopalian faith and traditions through:
Our church facilities feature a serene outdoor labyrinth, a sacred space for prayer, reflection, and quiet connection with the natural beauty of Mill Valley. We’re honored to be home to one of only nine labyrinths in all of Marin County.
All are welcome here.
