What Time is It?

Isaiah outlines an image in poetry of what we have come to call the beloved community. Paul tells a group of fractious Christians in Rome — and us nearly twenty centuries later — that we know what time it is. But do we? As a new church year begins, we are being commanded to keep awake for God doing a new thing in our midst, even in the face of our challenges with decline and emerging from the pandemic.
