Co-opting the Christian message and co-opting Jesus to make ourselves comfortable is a time-worn way we often lose the thread of our tradition. Posing great danger to our life and that of the world is that the image Christ the King on the cross offers a radical alternative to our often violent and self-serving ways: so radical that we can scarcely imagine the divine love that Christ discloses.
