The Very Rev. Dr. Julia McCray–Goldsmith
Interim Rector
Bio
The Very Rev. Dr. Julia McCray–Goldsmith is serving as our Interim Rector during our period of discernment seeking a new permanent Rector. Julia recently retired from service as Dean of the multilingual Trinity Cathedral in San Jose California. She brings her spiritual gifts of listening, praying, and leading… trusting the Holy Spirit as the most reliable GPS for our common journey with God. Julia has experience in both the California Diocese and The Episcopal Church, especially in stewardship, diversity and inclusion, and justice. She is a faithful student of Jesuit spirituality, contributor to Daily Prayer for All Seasons and Lifting Women’s Voices. Her full biography can be found on her blog at https://www.liftupyourhearts.net/blog/.
Julia has been married for 39 years to John, with whom she shared 20 years of life in intentional (co-housing) community in the San Francisco Bay Area. Together, Julia and John are the frequently surprised and always grateful parents of Nicaraguan-born sons Amos and Aaron, daughter-in law Jillian, and grandparents of Ella, who often makes a celebrity appearance during our Sunday morning sermons.
